Twitter Attacked – Twitter Responds

Twitter was today taken offline in response to a coordinated attacked on their servers. According to the official Twitter blog the mirco-blogging the site come under denial-of-service attacks. It is believed that the Twitter servers were flooded with data in a bid to disable them.

Twitter creator Biz Stone stated: “On this otherwise happy Thursday morning, Twitter is the target of a denial of service attack,”

“Attacks such as this are malicious efforts orchestrated to disrupt and make unavailable services such as online banks, credit card payment gateways, and in this case, Twitter for intended customers or users.”

This latest attack is yet another significant issue for the popular site. Twitter have announced business as usual for its services as it continues to combat the attack that forced them to shut down.

Twitter under Attack – Twitter forced to disable

Twitter has been disabled and taken offline in what Twitter are announcing as a coordinated attack on their servers.

According to the official Twitter blog the mirco-blogging site has come under denial-of-service attacks. It is believed that the Twitter servers have been flooded with data in a bid to disable them.

There has been no more official comment from Twitter on the attack or when and how it took place, but Twitter services have been removed for the time being.
